Welcome to our Website
Here are the 5W's of TEC so you can get to know who we are and what we are about.
What?
TEC is a youth ministry that runs conferences where young people can learn more about Jesus, and experience the love of God. This is not something that we created ourselves. TEC weekends have been going on all over North America for nearly 40 years, and have proven to be a great way to share the love of God with teenagers and to help young people strengthen their faith.
Who?
There are two types of people at TEC weekends: Candidates and Team Members. Candidates must be between 16 and 24 years old. You don’t have to be a Christian to go, but if you are interested in learning about making Jesus a part of your life in the 21st Century and have an open mind, you’ll have a great time at a TEC weekend. The Team is made up of other young people who have been through a TEC weekend as a candidate, as well as a few
adults and pastors.
When?
TEC Weekends happen twice a year, during the Victoria Day long weekend in May and the Remembrance Day long weekend in November. The conference lasts
3 days and 2 nights.
Where?
TEC Conferences are held at local churches. In fact, we could not exist without the generous support of
churches in the area.
Why?
To help young people connect with God, and to share the joy that comes with making Jesus a part of your life
How?
At TEC you’ll participate in small discussion groups, listen to modern worship music, hear talks on various subjects from pastors, young adults and teens who are going through the same things you are. You’ll feel the love of God in new and exciting ways. And there are a few fun surprises as well. After a young person has attended a TEC weekend as a Candidate, they are encouraged to come back and work as part of the Team. In this way, TEC encourages participation in ministry and develops the leadership
abilities of the workers.
